Why is learning to teach a difficult process-even for the best new teachers? The ability to teach is not taught in the course of a beginning teacher’s study. It is a skill set acquired in the classroom through observation and first-hand experience. A new teacher faces many challenges and require much support to survive their first year. A first year-teacher enters the classroom with knowledge, however, is underprepared for the art of teaching itself.
