Beyonce's Lemonade Analysis

Decent Essays
What is the central point of the essay “Beyonce's Lemonade as an A+ essay you might ask. Well what I think the central point of the essay is that “good writing isn't a skill that ends in university. It is a lifelong process of mastering it in many changing forms.” This central point was taken right out of the essay located in passage 17. Do I agree with this statement written in passage 17? I sorta do, I feel like the using of writing or “good writing” will follow me throughout life. It won't just end in a university. It might be that some people use writing later on in life a lot and some other people could use it less.

What I think it depends on is if you have a job that you have to write then you would have to use good writing a lot.

The Real Writer, says that enjoying writing is more of an “agonistic” type of thing. This means that it is not something you are obsessed with, it’s a love-hate relationship. This is important because it emphasizes that people don’t usually LOVE writing, it is more of a fire that burns inside them. “I believe that I write because I am driven to do so—driven by a will to write (Allen 25).” Basically, writing is not some kind of “gift from the gods” or natural talent.…

Since the beginning of my first year at school I have been learning to read and write. Throughout these years I have had a lot of experiences with reading and writing. All through high school we would write responses and essays over books we read. Once I entered college everything changed; I began to learn about writers and people who were known because of their great works of literature. In college, you are held to a higher standard and responsibility than you are in high school; this challenge has encouraged me to work hard and because of this I have become better at writing.…

There are good writers and there are good writers who work hard to become better. Mrs. Fiske, my English teacher junior and senior year of high school always told me that I was one of the best writers in my class but I could always be better. Spelling has always been one of my strong suits and I always get bothered when people can’t spell simple words. I’m pretty good at writing essays but I do not enjoy writing them at all.…

Melissa Avdeeff’s essay “Beyonce and Social Media: Authenticity and the Presentation of Self is about how celebrities or musicians create their public private persona through the use of visual aids. Ms. Avdeeff explains that scholars who study the current popular culture, especially in the music or entertainment industry view the digital social media and what is “authenticity”. Beyonce and others like her use social media to reveal specific visual images in order to control how her fans view their public private selves and give an altered view such as being glamorous which might not be quite accurate. Whether we know it or not in this modern society we are writers everyday of our lives. These interactions shape not only how we communicate but how we write as well. Personally, I have been shaped by the influence of both other writers I have known and those I have only read the creations of. Those same influences contributed to both my writing style in the classroom and to my identity as a writer. I spent a lot of my childhood with my nose deep in fiction novels at near by libraries.…

My writing career has had all four of the Four Basics in it. When I was younger, reading was fun to me, so when someone would read to me or if someone was just reading out loud, I would listen. This gave me exposure to writing and made me want to write a little. Motivation was not hard for me because writing was just not my thing. Practice was something that hardly ever happened though.…

Gender issues and separations have been a major disadvantage to women all over the world from years past and even some today. Women were not and or still not treated equally to men and we discriminated against them just because of being a different sex. In America, women were not even allowed to vote until 1918. Even slaves were treated equally much sooner before women were. Luckily, today in the United States, women are allowed to vote and are able to have the same rights as men, but there are theories of men getting paid more than women because of being a different gender.…

To me, writing has always been busy work and something that teachers only used to create grades. My writing experience in high school was very limited to one category in: practice AP essays. The writing I did in class was always preparing for AP exams and was very fact based. Most essays, such as history, were only used to show that I knew the material and weren’t graded on how good the writing was. I didn’t feel like I had any freedom to stray away from the format that the AP graders expected because I didn’t want that to affect my score.…
