“Power means happiness; power means hard work and sacrifice”- by Beyonce Knowles (Everyday Power, 2017). Beyonce is a very special and talented person in my opinion, because she is stronger than anyone I know. She has inspired me ever since I was just a little girl. I remember having concerts for my parents in our living room pretending like I was Beyonce. Beyonce started singing at a very early age. She competed in talent shows local to her and winning most of these events by wowing audiences with her singing and dancing abilities in her own home town, in Houston Texas. “Beyonce scored early success with Destiny's Child, who started out as a sexier and sassier (if less adult) version of TLC, then steadily became more and more of a vehicle for Beyoncé's operatic vocals and general diva-tude — which may have been the plan all along” (The Rolling Stone of Rock and Roll, Simon and Schuster, 2001). Destiny's Child released their last studio album called, “Destiny Fulfilled”, in 2004, and then officially broke up that following year. They both won the best R&B song and best Rap/Sung collaboration awards in 2004, at the Grammy Awards. It was so obvious that Beyonce and Jay-Z had something going on for the longest time and the paparazzi was on their tail. The second that Beyonce revealed that she and Jay-Z were together on the Oprah show, she regretted it. She knew it would get out

The social and political system in the United States of America unquestionably revolves around white supremacy and misogyny. Many pop culture icons have attempted to make a change, but none have seemed to have done it quite like Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. The pop icon released her album, Lemonade, in April of 2016, which lyrically and visually shows themes of different social issues such as racism and the treatment of women. Beyoncé combines the two together and explicitly discusses the injustices faced among African-American women, which can be heard and seen in the visuals during songs like “Don’t Hurt Yourself” and “Freedom”. Beyoncé takes her personal life, expands it, and leads it into the illustration of the struggle black women face across the United States.…
