Official's believe that his Juvenile Justice Reform Act of 2018 will keep more children out of the system and reduce the likelihood of them becoming repeat offenders after they become adults. By focusing on smarter resources with responsible reforms for more serious offenders, we can ensure that interventions are targeted to the risks and needs of each child.…

Though it may be a long process to address the absolute solutions to the numerous problems in the system, there are some that we can never solve. Mainly being the mental and psychological damage that comes with being admitted into the system, whatever is done to improve the system it will never fix the damage done to the spirits and minds of the children who have been placed into the care of strangers for their own protection. Furthermore, the continuous development of the foster care system is needed to further address the issues facing thousands of minors in America…

Introduction: The child welfare system is a corrupt system. Many suspected cases of neglect (GRTEP defines this as “parents should have done something for the child but failed to do so,” such as denying medical care or not feeding them) or abuse (GRTEP defines this as “Abuse means that you did something to hurt your child,” such as molesting them or hitting them hard enough to break bones) are going unreported or uninvestigated, children are living in miserable conditions (even after DCS intervention or when in foster care), and are not given a smooth transition into adulthood. Perhaps a more family centered approach to ending child abuse and neglect would benefit our country the most. Discussion: With many children living in neglect and abuse…
