My first job at the company that I currently work at was a general laborer. The job tasks included sweeping, landscaping, and loading trucks in the warehouse. It was a very tough job and I wanted to quit at first. But the positives of this job were it helped me build muscle and it taught me to work hard in order to move up. I did not want to stay in that position because it was hot and grueling work, by the end of the day I was covered in dust, dirt, and sweat which was not a pleasant experience. By my boss saw the effort that I put into the job and I was promoted as an inside sales representative. The warehouse job helped me because I was familiar with all the products and I would be able to help the customers that walk into the door at a high level. I work for a contractor supply company so there are thousands of different job site applications within the construction industry and I have to be knowledgeable about all of them in order to sell the correct product for the job. This job had its hardships as well because of the language barrier but I worked through it because it sure beat stacking fifty pound boxes of nails in a hot warehouse. I was then promoted again and I work as a sales representative and a junior purchaser within the supply chain department and I love it. Hard work has paid of for me and it is without question one of my best leadership
