It was in 2009 when the Centre was started, it was through visiting street children in dump sites and river banks where they used to swim that the all idea of establishing the Centre came about.
It was through relationships and negotiations with them and thereafter, some of them accepted to join primary school. In the year 2010, fourteen of them joined four different primary schools namely; Githurai 6, Kahawa 3, Mahiga 3 and Ngomono 2.
The vision was then later advanced and led to the construction of mud structures as a school and Centre, because what was intended for the children was not fulfilled.

3.0 CHALLENGES FACING THE SITE
Like any other institutions Bethsaida is also faced with a number of challenges as follows;
1. The institution mostly runs because of its well-wishers who donate what they can for the day to day running and maintenance. As the country’s economic depression increases the number of well-wishers also decreases. The community as a whole should be urged to help out in such initiatives as a way of giving back to society.
2. They do not have a maximum security whereby there is a hired guide watching over them and therefore people easily come in and go and this can cause theft if they are not careful things might start disappearing.
3. They use fire woods to cook and therefore the place is usually much filled with smoke that sometimes it creates breathing problems for us and even for the

You can either relate to the struggles of having an alcoholic parents, or draw similarities to parents who are absent from day to day life for one reason or another.
