This book has taught me so much about how true love never fails no matter what happens. The little things in life matter more than the big things. Also that you should never judge someone by their appearance because they are different inside the things you can’t see with a human naked eye, you have to get to know that person to find the truly special, ideal things inside with the loving warm caring hearts. “People die, but love doesn’t,” I learned that even if people pass away there is still that true love that never escapes the hearts of people that are still here on earth. Just like when Marguerite passed away Eddie still loved her with all his heart and the same goes for Marguerite that even when she was in heaven.…

In the book speak I have heard many people say that the main character Melinda Sordino shows more fear and resentment than courage in the book speak. In my perspective she was very brave for even putting up and living life after what had happened to her. Many people would become depressed over what had happened or just given up on life itself but not her and Melinda shows courage throughout the book not in any bold extravagant ways but through her own little examples. In the book when they talk about what happened to her at the party that night she was raped she left the tree shaded area and went back to the house where the party was and called 911 and already that shows courage being able to even try to do something even anything over such a serious thing like rape is so difficult and brace especially for the victim to do.…

Regardless of whether literary characters, authors, or readers believe in God/ a higher power, it is human nature to search for morality in the midst of immorality and injustice. Often that search leads people to seek answers above the fray of humanity’s wickedness from some divine being. Traditionally, prayer is seen as a form of this communication and search, while the cross is a symbol of a holy figure’s guidance; its base reaching upward to the heavens and the horizontal piece extending outward to humanity. However, these literary symbols also represent the daily struggle between good and evil in every individual’s life that instigates a hope for a better world. Cormac McCarthy’s The Road and Natasha Trethewey’s Native Guard both emphasize…

Chris Brochu, moreover true to Timmy, portrayed him in the film as the fun, loving, charming and creative older brother. Bethany Hamilton describes him as “The guy who enjoys being the odd one out – the class clown.” Finally, Lorraine Nicholson, as Bethany’s best friend Alana, was also perfectly represented in ‘Soul Surfer’ with her love for the ocean, fun and cheeky personality as well as the raw emotions she felt during Bethany’s attack. However, although ‘Soul Surfer’ accurately portrayers all the main characters true to their characteristics and personalities, there were two fictional characters in the film. Reflecting some of the issues a competitive surfer faces in the industry, Malina Birch was created (representing a variety of competitors Bethany had encountered in her life) as the one stereotypical villain.…
