Welcome ladies and gentlemen! Today as we are gathered here, we are about to meet a very amazing and inspiring woman. This blonde haired beach girl is more than just an amazing surfer. She is a beacon of hope and inspiration. Throughout her trials she has stayed hopeful and continued to serve other and live up to her duties in her church. She is now married and beginning to raise her family despite the missing piece of her. Please welcome my personal hero Bethany Hamilton!

Bethany Hamilton lives with her family on the island Kauai, Hawaii. She has two older brothers and her dog Ginger. Her whole family surfs. Bethany was a pro surfer by the time she was 13. She surfed with her best friend since childhood Alana Blanchard. Her family are active

The day of Thanksgiving was the day of truth. Cause even though once your on the board it seems all you need is your feet and hips, but getting on the board was a challenge. She would have to hold on the the board all she could to swim under the wave, then all of her strength in her right arm to push herself up. After many failed attempts, brutal wipe-outs, and thoughts of giving up she was finally able to do. Bethany could surf with only one arm. Even though she would have to work twice as hard.

Bethany Hamilton has done more than the majority of people who have two arms than she has with one. Through her trials she's stayed uplifting and inspiring. She went on a service trip to Haiti after the tsunami with her church group. She has won dozens of surfing competitions and has sponsors in Rip Curl. She was nominated for the Teen Choice Awards. She's guest stared in many shows and movies like Dolphin Tale 2, Oprah, The Biggest Loser, Amazing Race, 17 Kids and Counting, Academy of Country Music Awards, and Good Morning America. She even wrote her own auto biography, Soul Surfer. Which has been make into a movie. This movie shares the inspiring story of Bethany Hamilton.
