My immediate reaction to Beth Thomas' experience/behaviors at the end of the video was multifaceted. I understood that her removal and temporary replacement was a decision made in the best interest of the adopted parents, Beth’s sibling, and for Beth. However, I was concerned that transitioning into a new environment to then be reunified with her adopted parents would generate additional problems for her. I was uncertain where she was placed and weary of religious indoctrination taking place and causing additional confusion for the Beth. Based on the information presented in the documentary, Beth appeared to excel in the new environment which involved rules, structure, and opportunities to build her self-esteem and learn how to develop
