The author summarizes the works on the main concepts of best practice done by different theorists for the last twenty years. The aim of the article is to explore the difficulties of best practice development and initiate the recommendations for future progress. The author describes the theories of best practice and concludes that “continued development of best practice concepts is necessary to distinguish the concepts of best and evidence-based practice” (p.9). Through scientific studies and analyses, the authors identify inconsistencies in nursing practices and recommend research development on organizational and individual strategies for evidence-based practice implementation into nursing practice. Recommendations on the evidence-based practice implementation need supporting evidence. For better results in patients’ outcomes, development of evidence-based practice requires deep analysis, clear expectations and formulation of competencies to correspond with the increasing demands of health
