Best Friends For Never Book Report

Decent Essays
Best Friends For Never by Lisi Harrison is a story that I think many 8th graders would like. It’s a story about wanting to fit in, especially where no one's normal and everyone is always judging. It shows the struggles most middle schoolers go through, except these girls shop everyday at high fashion, expensive stores or go to social events with celebrities. Showing the struggles of power between friends and outsiders. And the struggles of trying to deal with parents. Reading this book was different, but relatable that’s why I think many 8th graders would like this book!

The book I chose for my independent reading project was The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, by Michelle Hodkin. I would recommend this book to people between the ages of 14 and 18. Hopkin's book is in the category of young adult novels which describes the ages I would recommend. There were definitely negative points to this book but the positives outweighed them.…

What Laurie Halse Anderson is trying to say about friends and best friends in the book Speak is that friends come and go. Heather was a wonderful friend to Melinda until she joined the Martha’s. Later in the year Heather broke their friendship at lunch when Heather said they were never really friends. The second thing is Rachel and Melinda used to be best friends until Melinda called the cops at a summer party. Later in the year Melinda told Rachel what had happened to her at the party, but it took awhile for Rachel to believe Melinda.…

The book that I chose to read was The Curious Incident of the Dog At Night-time it is about a teenager named Christopher Boone and his life. The book is written from his perspective and talks mostly about his life with mild autism and his family relationships. Christopher’s autism makes what most people may think of as a simple task, very difficult. For example when Christopher had to ride the subway he was very scared, so much so that could barely function, this was triggered by of the amount of people around him. For me these struggles are not something I was familiar with before reading this book.…

Friendship is one of the major themes in The Book Thief. To start with, trust and support are what defines friendship. An example of this is when Hans returns the favour to Erik, Max’s father, for saving him back in the war by helping to hide Max, a Jew, from the Nazi’s. This example proves, trust and support can be the key to a healthy relationship because without these two skills, the person who is struggling will feel helpless and closed off. Also, good mutual relationships between other people is what keeps the characters going through their current circumstances.…
