Best Faith Experiences

Some of my best faith experiences include CYO retreats, CHWC, and NCYC. Firstly, I have been on multiple St. Dominic CYO retreats, and I think that everytime I go my faith continues to grow. I am always experiencing different parts of faith everytime I go. During these retreats, we listen to witness talks, talk in small groups together. Secondly, CHWC stands Catholic Heart Work Camp, which is focused on service and loving others. Throughout this camp, you are given the opportunity to make a difference by helping others through service projects. I attended this camp this past summer in Ogdensburg, New York. Each day everyone there went to mass together. During the day, we went to do service work at different organizations. The day ended with

On my one and only vacation last summer, I got the privilege on going to my first Younglife camp. The camp name was Carolina Point in Brevard, North Carolina. At the camp they had many activities: swimming, go-carting, disc golf, mountain biking, zip-lining, paddling boarding, and hiking. My favorite part about this trip was the day we took a whole camp trip to hike the nearby mountain. At the camp they had some kids with disabilities that couldn’t necessarily get up the mountain by themselves.…

Camp is place unlike any other. It is a place that people’s wall begin to fall down and new relationships are formed. This is bound to happen when you drop 200 teenagers in the middle of the Smoky Mountains without any of their electronics. I have had various experiences in the last two years, but the one I feel is the most significant is the time I spent volunteering for the Detroit Mission Trip. This opportunity presented itself in June of 2014 through my church, Metro South Church. I spent one week, Monday through Friday, each day-all day, commuting from my home in Brownstown to the inner city of Detroit. Each day of this mission trip consisted of various volunteer jobs. I was one of approximately 100 people that engaged in the process of making life better for others.…

Calvary Commission, the seminary that I stayed at, is located a few miles out of town on a land that seems to never end. I could walk miles and still find myself to be on Calvary Commission’s property. The first day I was there, my group and I went on a little hike up to the prayer chapel, which sat on the top of a hill, surrounded by trees, and a bonfire pit stood a few feet away. This was my group’s first real exposure to how great the people at Calvary Commission are.…
