Best Buy Mission Statement

In this essay I’ve chosen Best Buy as my organization to write about. I like shopping at Best Buy so I thought it would be interesting to learn a bit more about the store. I will be going over Best Buy’s mission statement, their organization’s structure, decision making process, human resource practices, and their social responsibilities. I did have some trouble finding things on Best Buy since they don’t seem to update their stuff very often and they seem to have their information scattered all over. So, some of the information I got is older but still being used in the organization. First, I found their mission statement, but it was from 2013. Apparently, Best Buy doesn’t have an official mission statement. However, I did find a statement …show more content…
But luckily, I kept looking and found some information on it. I was surprised to see how many perks Best Buy has. They offer health, vision, and dental insurance. It also provides group life insurance, long term disability, short term disability insurance (this is for accident or illness), and accidental death and dismemberment benefits. They help with retirement and financial benefits like profit sharing, 401(k) plans, and a defined contribution pension plan that helps ensure a stable flow of income later in life. I thought it was great to see that employees who work at Best Buy get paid sick leave, holidays, and vacation. Employees also get a store discount too, but I wasn’t surprised by this since I’ve heard many stores do this. Best Buys hiring procedures are like many other jobs they would rather you apply online though I’m sure they’d let you do a paper method if you had no other way. But they like the online method since it is a streamlined process that makes it easy to submit information and land an interview. You must be at least 16 years old to work at Best Buy. First, you need to set up an account and create a profile at www.bestbuy-jobs.com. Once you finish your profile you will need to consent to using an electronic signature and a drug screening before proceeding with the application. Finally, you upload your resume and finish answering …show more content…

Basically, social responsibility is one of the factors that dictates the success or failure of a company. Based on Best Buys mission statement they are a customer centered company. One of their main goals is to be able to understand its customers’ needs and maintain the relationship that they have with their shareholders, stakeholders, suppliers, and most importantly customers. Best Buy started an electronics recycling program after customers asked them to find ways of recycling electronics, this program ensures that electronic junk is safely recycled. Their customer service offers free repair services which are usually fast. The customer service staff is available twenty-four hours a day to solve any problem you may have. This has increased their customer satisfaction and given them an advantage over their competitors in the market place. The relationships they have built with their customers, has allowed them to deliver sustainable and pioneering solutions. These relationships have led to more products that help their customers stay connected with them. Their store employees and customers are part of the community that they support through contributions and volunteer efforts. They volunteer in their communities and give money back to the community through store donations and community
