Bernie Sanders: Democratic Socialist
In a society, we need a chief leader, a person who can do the country plenty of good, like a Prime Minister, King/Queen or a president. In the United States, we need a president, and the man for that job is Bernie Sanders. He is one of the democratic nominees for the 2016 presidential election, and he is running as a self-proclaimed “Democratic Socialist”. He eventually won that sole spot for Vermont in the House though as an independent, and he would be the incumbent for the next eight elections (Bernie Sanders). His independent status created a burden on him, because he could never get pieces of legislation passed due to not having any fellow independents, and strongly despising the Democrats and Republicans, the majority in the House. This proved most fatal when Sanders was extremely against the Iraq War, but couldn’t do anything to stop the legislation because he had no allies to help him out.
The House wasn’t the right place for Bernie, so he decided to run for a spot in the Senate. In 2006, he started his campaign for Senate as a Democratic Socialist, and won. He was much more successful as a senator than a representative, as he was part of many committees and organizations dealing with budgets, health, education, labor and pensions. He has also dealt greatly with issues such as equality and the wealth gap along with protection of the environment (sander.senate.gov).
Now Bernie is a happy Vermont resident. He lives with his wife, Jane O’Meara Sanders, and has had five children with her. He also has seven

Fossil fuels are very prevalent due to the lobbying of these high-profit corporations that just speed up the process of global warming. And we also need to decrease the amount of greenhouse gases, to stop trapping in that heat. The use of all these fossil fuels is at an all-time high, and can only be stopped by shifting towards the use of renewable energy sources. However, if we don’t stop the high use of fossil fuels, then the climate will still continue to grow causing many severe environmental effects such as: deadlier storms, more severe droughts, acidification of the oceans and many other effects that can result in deaths and poverty.
Next n Bernie’s agenda is the issue of immigration. The U.S has a huge influx of immigrants, but some are illegal or are treated differently. Bernie plans to let immigrants get access to healthcare, support laws that help immigrants get involved in the country and work. He plans to reform the long visa process, and make sure that any illegal detained doesn’t have to be discriminated against by safely deporting them without the need for harsh prisons (Bernie
