''Never mistake activity for achievement'', said John Wooden. But in this case, Bernie Sanders will prove that wrong. Sanders was born on September 8, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York to Jewish parents. He attended James Madison High School, Brooklyn College, and University of Chicago where he graduated in 1964 with a Bachelor’s of Arts in political science. During his college years Sanders was also active in the Civil Rights Movement and was part of the Young People’s Socialist League and the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee. He was also part of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom in 1963. After college Bernie had a few jobs, including a carpenter, a filmmaker and a freelance writer. Sanders then moved to Vermont where he started …show more content…
Sure, Bernie Sanders will be a great President of the United States for the reasons that his record is outstanding and he has the skills, knowledge, and commitment to prove otherwise. But he does have a fault in his proposal on improving America. Sanders wants to help illegal immigrants and make them more involved with our country. But does he know all the trouble and issues that immigrants bring to America? These illegal aliens have taken jobs from American citizens, even black-Americans. Shockingly, there have been over 3 million arrests of illegal immigrants, for reasons like rapes and murders. Do we really want to give citizenship to these people who mean nothing but trouble? Should we send them all back to their country? However, if you think about it, not only will that cost billions of dollars, but who has built the foundation of America? Illegal immigrants. Although there are those criminal immigrants who gave a bad reputation to the Mexicans, most of them actually helped our economy grow. If we completely kick them out, our economy will greatly decrease and put us in an even deeper dept. Sanders will enforce border control, but he will also give fair help and support to those immigrants who managed to cross to the U.S.. If Bernie Sanders becomes president, he will do everything he can to make this a better, stronger, and more stable country by doing what’s right for the people and our

“One man, one vote”, a phrase and a principle that is the foundation of any great democracy. The U.S has adopted this principle in the form of universal suffrage for all of it citizens and symbolizes the country’s unity and equality. However, every four years in the month of November in the presidential election when one individual is chosen to lead the nation, one would expect for the winner of the election to be the will of the people, but unfortunately that’s not the case. In the most important election in the entire country, a separate institution, the Electoral College, makes the final vote on who will become president. Although intended to be a reflection of the popular vote, the methodology in which it is practice is flawed and leaves…

Undocumented workers are responsible for about 3 percent of the US economy and deporting them would be an enormous burden on the US economy. The Washington post predicts, “the most important effect would be a decline in manufacturing output of $74 billion over the long term, followed by somewhat more modest declines in wholesale and retail trade and financial activities” (Ehrenfreund). As the 2016 presidential election wears on in the United States of America, members of the Democratic party have become split between the two running candidates. On one side lies pragmaticism heralded by candidate Hillary Clinton. Clinton is very much the establishment candidate in the race, favoring compromise with the opposing party to create slow, non-risky change. On the other hand, however, is Bernie Sanders, a self-proclaimed democratic socialist who believes that the democratic party needs to fight for change and draw the line in the sand. As the two candidates have radically different ideologies on how to accomplish change and on just how much change is necessary, the inevitable did occur and the lines within the party have been set:…

Sanders and Rushdie Analytical The globalization of the world, beginning in the late twentieth century and still an ongoing phenomenon today, has brought unprecedented prosperity to the world, enabling those who could afford it new modern conveniences and an enthrallingly cosmopolitan way of life. But the same forces of globalization also deprived once-proud ancient indigenous peoples of their culture, imbuing their children’s minds with imported American values. Globalization, in light of this, deserves not hearty approbation but a tempered eye judging both its vices and virtues.…

Sarah Conly- the author who wrote “Three Cheers for the Nanny State”- argues that the soda restriction is a good idea because people would be stopped from making foolish decisions that they’ll pretty definitely regret.…
