THE TURNING POINT: RECONCILING RAPE AND ROME’S FOUNDATIONS Livy’s Ab Urbe Condita tells the story of the founding of Rome, and includes several prominent stories of rape: that of Rhea Silvia, the Sabine women, Lucretia, and Verginia.
