As five candidates run for presidency, one candidate that is very intriguing and determined to fix our political structure is Bernard Sanders. In 1963, Bernie attended a march in Washington with Martin Luther King, Jr and John Lewis that was very symbolic to his career. His involvement with the civil rights movement was very inspirational because he demonstrated courageous acts of standing up for what was right even though it was politically unpopular. Candidates like Bernie is what our nation needs, he has very bold ideas in fixing our economical, scholar, and housing issues.
One of the key issues that Bernie addresses is the economical inequality that is present in the United States. There are many millionaires in this nation than anywhere else in the world. Even though it sounds like it might be great for our country, it isn’t because very few people are the ones that own most of the wealth. This has affected many low-income students and more than 71 percent of them graduate with debts with an average of $29,400 of loans. If Bernie were to become elected as a president he would resolve this issue with college tuition. He would make tuition free just like Germany, Sweden, and as many other countries have.
