In the film, Berlinger and Sinofsky, set the stage by revealing footage of where the three mutilated boys were first found. The grand reveal, is accompanied by metallica soundtrack that appears to be in a minor key. Perhaps, Berlinger and Sinofsky wanted to appeal to viewer’s emotion through music whilst displaying the horrifying images of the three bare boys. Indeed, this scene was a tragic sight. The speed of the music chosen welcomes the emotions we associate it with. That is, sadness. The film makers almost wanted us to be dismal, leading us to wonder who was responsible for the death of these young boys and what will there consequences be.
