- I have selected the $37.2 bn. acquisition of Precision Castparts Corp (PCC) from Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (BH).
- In my analysis, this transaction is disruptive for Berkshire Hathaway. This a new market disruption for the holding company lead by Mr. Buffets, which has presence in many and diverse activities and industries. However, BH does not have a position in the aerospace industry.
Controlling a majority stake in PCC will allow BH to have a significant dominance in that industry. PCC is the supplier of choice for the world’s aerospace industry, one of the largest sources of American exports.
