An epic hero is defined as a character in an epic poem who is noble and brave and is affected by great events or admired for his achievements. In the epic poem Beowulf the character Beowulf demonstrates several traits of an epic hero, he shows the traits like fate, superhuman strength/courage and legendary significances.
Beowulf simplifies many traits as an epic hero because he shows that his fate is nothing but an epic hero’s way of life. Firstly Beowulf shows that he is an epic hero because he is born of noble birth. “My lord, the great king of Danes, command to tell you that he knows of your noble birth and that having come to him from over the open Sea you are bravely and are welcome.” (line127-130). Beowulf is related to the king of the Danes which makes him the next to the air, which makes him of noble birth.
