Beowulf's Great Representation Of The Anglo-Saxon Culture

A hero is defined as a noble and courageous character that is admired by the people for their great achievements. Most common epic heroes have the traits of superhuman strength, bravery, loyalty, and honor. Beowulf is a great representation of the Anglo-Saxons culture because of the many characteristics of an epic that he has. Beowulf demonstrates the characteristics of an epic by having superhuman strength, bravery, and loyalty. In the poem Beowulf shows that he has superhuman strength and no one can compare to him. “They have seen my strength for themselves, have watched me rise from the darkness of war dripping with my enemies blood” (Beowulf lines 151-153). In the quotation Beowulf shows that he is really strong by defeating all his enemies.
