The Danish start to honor the great Beowulf in his accomplished effort of defeating the terrible Grendel, singing songs and reciting stories. The arm is presented to Beowulf as a token of being grateful. While they are celebrating, Grendel’s mother, another foul creature, wreaks havoc on the hall; seeking vengeance for her sons brutal murder. While she attempts to enter the hall, a man wakes and the mother flees. Beowulf is informed he must kill Grendel’s mother as well.Before Beowulf leaves he arms himself with as many weapons as possible, not knowing exactly what to expect. Beowulf travels to the lair of Grendel’s mother, which is in a cave, surrounded by a swamp. To reach Grendel’s mom, Beowulf must swim to the bottom of the lake, which has never been reached before. Beowulf swims for almost a full day, before ever reaching the bottom of the lake, and before almost arriving at the bottom is clutched in the grip of an angry Grendel’s mother. During the fight Beowulf sees a sword hanging on the wall of the cave, retrieves it and slices off the head of the monster. The Danes see the blood rise to the top of the lake and automatically assume Beowulf could not complete the task, until Beowulf rises with the head of Grendel and the Danes are reassured of the great strength of Beowulf. We learn of a terrifying dragon that lives below earth, protecting the treasure that is there’s. Beowulf believes he owes it to the community of fight the dragon and take back the treasure that is rightfully theirs. A goblet is stolen, and the dragon rampages on the entire town, breathing fire on every home. Beowulf and his army travel to defeat the fiery dragon once and for all. At the scene of the fight, Beowulf is bitten by the dragon and quickly realizes the venom is killing him fastly. Beowulf finally stabs the dragon with a knife to the stomach which finally kills the dragon. Both die at the end of the treacherous
