Beowulf the one who slain the Grendel in Herot along with the Grendel’s Mother and the Dragon in Geat Land. Should Beowulf be considered an Epic? I myself consider that Beowulf is an epic. One of the main reasons why Beowulf is an Epic is that there is a universal theme or themes. Three universal themes was when Beowulf himself fought Grendel and that fight was meant to represent GOOD VS. EVIL. The Second theme was Grendel’s Mother when she found how that this human had kill her son and wanted REVENGE. The third theme that could have been seen was GREED this is because the dragon collected shine items that he wanted so he killed for what he want causing him to be greedy.
