In the epic of Beowulf it portrays a good vs evil perspective. Beowulf standing for the good guy and the monsters standing for the bad guys. Beowulf is on a search for fame and glory which can be taken as an evil perspective. Beowulf is kinda being greedy but he is also doing things to help people out which is a good thing.
The villians in the story like Grendel, grendel's mom and the dragon are evil and do stuff the villains would normally do. Grendel which is the first villain that Beowulf kills is very sneaky and like to roam around at night. Grendel would kill people at night and eat them and was a very ugly demon like creature.
