This morning, king Charles (The townspeople and farmers refer to him informally as Charlie or KC) received word that a fire-snorting dragon was again terrorizing the countryside. The monster is scaring the people of his kingdom, and several of the farmers have left their land. He summoned his legion of knights and advisors to the castle for a meeting. Once before the king sent the royal knights to stop the giant lizard from roaming the lowlands and raising havoc in the kingdom. But with their shiny armor, and long swords they could not slay the beast. They only had time to chase him back into the mountains before being recalled to fight off invaders from the north. Should he return to the valleys and fields they will have no …show more content…
He has seen the lad scurrying around the castle. And remembered the young wizard always has a kind word and a smile for anyone he meets even if he is in a hurry to get somewhere. One of his advisers had told the king that, “Titus is a smart boy.” “And because of the wizard advanced age he has allowed him to take over some of his everyday mundane duties.” “Titus,” King Charles was told, “Knows the name and ranks of the knights and their seating order in both the grand hall and banquet rooms.” And the adviser said he "can predict the weather with amazing accuracy.” Titus is of average height for a boy in his early teens. But, his body frame is a smaller than most of the boys. With his red hair well- groomed and his clean clothes, he is always neat in appearance. And, he has enough freckles on his face and arms to fill a small water bucket. So many people have made comments on his freckles, he is not sure if he should be proud, or ashamed of them. “There is no reason to be embarrassed by your freckles.” His mentor the royal wizard says. “Call them as memory spots, every time you learn something new, you get another one.” Titus so many freckles that most of his friends call him Spots,

In the movie Monty Python the Quest for the Holy Grail, the themes of what knights are supposed to be in medieval literature are satirized. The goal of this paper is to discuss the similarities and differences of the movie and real medieval literature. The main focus points are the knight’s chivalric code, their behavior, and the responsibility of women and the characteristics of a noble quest. These, among all the other connections, are the things within the movie are mocked the most. The characteristics of a noble quest is often thought of as an honorable and great deed.…

    Beowulf: A True Hero

In Beowulf, I found myself idolizing over the strong and fearless hero. He was what I would call “the perfect hero”, because not only did he get the job done, but he did it so with honor and modesty. In some cases it reminded me of the movie Hercules, where Hercules tried to show off as much as possible and show that he was better than everyone else to gain fame. While Beowulf used his famous strength to help those in need not to just gain fame, but because he knew he was undoubtedly the only one who could help.…

Through this code we learn right from wrong, we learn not to harm others, and we learn that respect is key when it comes to dealing with human relationships. Essentially this code of behavior teaches us how to respond in social situations and it is expected that we follow it. The Evolution of Beowulf Throughout the story of Beowulf the great hero accomplishes three great feats against three terrible monsters. On the surface of each battle readers can see that Beowulf portrays wlenco, however, if we look a little deeper into each conflict we can see positive character development within Beowulf himself. In this poem Beowulf clashes with Grendel, Grendel’s mother and the dragon that ravages his community; within each battle Beowulf has a subtle change in character that eventually leads him to become a great king. Before the author reaches Beowulf’s first conflict he writes Beowulf off as arrogant and bold.…

Throughout the journey to Canterbury, two tales were read. Each held very few similarities to the other, but each possessed quite a few differences. These two tales were expressed by men from two incomparably different walks of life. One was a well-born knight who found victory in battle, placed others before him, and took great pride in his two most extraordinary horses. The other story teller was a pardoner, who did not believe most of his own teachings, hornswoggled people for their money, and knew just how many non-vernacular Latin words he had to use to assure the common people of his sincerity.…

Words are the most powerful weapon, or so the saying goes. They can create hope for the most dismal of people, or they could be the reason someone swears never to smile again. In M.T. Anderson’s book, Feed, the main character Titus and his callow friends rely heavily on the Feed for every word, perhaps even every thought. Their words are no longer their own, but instead ideas strategically placed into their heads. If they ever find themselves comforting a friend, or paying someone a compliment, or caught in the middle of a lie, they need only call upon the Feed for help designing the perfect phrase to say.…
