Parallels between Beowulf and Sigemund occur in the story of Sigemund which is told to celebrate Beowulf’s victory over Grendel Both display valour and “deeds by which he had distinguished himself” and his reward “the most famous of adventurers” is what Beowulf brags about “Fame-winning deeds have come early to my hands” (408).
