Beowulf’s soldiers grab their weapons as fast as they can, and in a hurry rush into Heorot to fight against the demonized Grendel. The soldiers try stabbing Grendel with their swords, and are very confused to see it is not doing them any justice. Grendel can’t feel any of their attacks. They start to realize that there is something strange going on and that there must be a spell casted to protect him from their swords. Once the soldiers have started to realize this, they try to find ways to distract Grendel so that Beowulf can get a hold on him for good. The soldiers start to surround Grendel, getting as many punches as they can at him. Grendel starts to waver, and finally Beowulf comes in grabbing and ripping off Grendel’s whole arm and shoulder. Grendel screams in agony and takes off as quickly as he can to the swamp to die. The soldiers cheer for Beowulf as he lifts the arm up in the air and shows his victory. To show his victory, Beowulf hangs Grendel’s arm above the fireplace on one of the walls in Heorot. In the end, Beowulf realizes that he is satisfied with his victory and stops boasting for
