Beowulf, the son of Edgetho, was an honorable hero in his time. Not only was he considered the strongest of the Geats Clan, but also the strongest and greatest in his time. His character portraits one that is honest and loyal to his friends and family. In the long run, tales of his strength was known throughout the land, but he was also known to many for his wisdom as well as fighting.

She enters the land of Herot with a vengeance until she was greeted by the warriors and feared for her life. She quickly fled, but not before seizing one of the warriors that were one of Hrothgar’s most trusted men, his chief warrior, and her son’s arm. Beowulf, covered himself in armor, after receiving word of the fallen warrior’s fate. Together with a group of warriors, they began to follow her tracks and later on he set forth into the mere alone leaving Hrothgar behind. She attacked him with her claw after discovering his presence. A great battle went on between Gendel’s mother and Beowulf. He eventually ended the battle after using an old sword from the age of giants and as a result, beheaded her and swam back to shore with yet another victory.
Finally, before Beowulf’s death, he became king and ruled for over 50 winters, after Hygelac and Heardred fell to their death. He took on a final, battle, but this time, it was a dragon. Trusting in his strengths and courage he sought the dragon. With the help of another fierce warrior Waglaf, the dragon was defeated, but not without seriously wounding the older Beowulf. After a pyre was made for the king, twelve warriors, rode around the mound praising their hero for his courage and mighty deeds. Given these points, we now know why Beowulf was called a
