Benner's Theory Of Hard Work

Decent Essays
Benner's theory might not be accurate because people learn differently but it is a very realistic theory. My first job as a CNA probably took all the whole step, my first week of work was very scary, didn't know so much and the residents so well. I was trained for a week and was left to do ADLs for 18 residents. I did my first few months as I was taught in my CNA class, just by the book. Then I realize every residents are different and have to be treated individually, Mr. George might like to be showered at 8am and Ms. jones might like to be our of bed at 6am because of how she has lived her life as a hard working early riser.

It took me a while to get to know my residents and get comfortable working without an assistant or asking questions

It was a lovely day and I was able to attend the unit meeting. Our care manager discussed a lot of pertinent information that can improve the quality of care that we are giving to the residents in the unit. She emphasised about the completion of short term care plans, bowel book and incident forms. She also reminded the staff regarding the incoming staff auditing, infection control policies, management of outbreak and confidentiality of the residents. In addition, she informed all the staff to keep the medicine cupboards locked at all times, avoid overfilling the white bags and be aware of the toileting needs of the residents.…

The purpose of this article is to explore if nurse assistants were more committed to doing theirjob whenever they think of their job as a challenging job. There’s also another study in this text; it’s tosee whether resident satisfaction has something to do with the commitment of the CNA to their job. Ido believe that if the CNA loves their job than it does affect the resident’s experience. If the nurse lovestheir job they are going to be happier about going in to work and while helping the residents. Theresidents will feel more comfortable and that also goes with communication as well; they will feel morecomfortable telling you if they aren’t feeling well, etc.…

Research done about Certified Nurse Assistants (CNA) has shown that improvingthe quality and effectiveness of a nursing home begins with improving the satisfaction ofworkers. When CNAs are committed and happy with their job, it is easier for them toplease the residents. Research found that in order to improve the satisfaction of CNAsthere needs to be an increase of teamwork, wages, benefits, job advancementopportunities, and involvement of frontline workers. I agree with this statement. I believethat it is hard to have happy residents without happy workers.…

A lot of students believe that if they have some kind of experience with direct patient care in a facility as a CNA, then they will do a lot better in nursing program and in actual nursing care when they become a nurse. Every time someone gives me an advice about nursing, that one information that I always end up hearing. Since both CNAs and nurses work in a health-care field, it sounds like what the students are saying is true. However, that may not always be correct because there are some critical differences between direct care and nursing care that everyone should know. Both CNAs and RNs work in health-care field, take care of patient physical needs, and help them meet their emotional needs which is known as direct patient care.…

During my time there, nurses often approached me to provide small learning experiences and teach students how to be efficient. When a nurse on the unit asked for help with a bed bath for a patient with whom I was not familiar, I agreed. I wanted to get as much experience as I could. The nurse led me to the patient 's room right away.…
