I chose Benjamin O. Davis Jr. to honor his bravery in the most decorated black fighter squadron, the Tuskegee Airmen. The Tuskegee fighter squadrons flew bomber escort missions in both the African and European theatre, saving countless lives. Davis was the first black commanding officer, and was promoted to a four star general. I used Photoshop cs6 to create my image. I used 2 non-copyrighted images, one of Davis, and one of a period p51 mustang. I combined the two images and placed one of his most powerful, inspirational quotes.

    In 1944, one hundred and forty-five thousand African American men served in the US Army Air Force in the 99th Fighter Squadron, known as the Tuskegee Airmen.
