Benjamin Solomon Carson was born on September 18, 1951 in Detroit Michigan. He grew up poor and a single-parent household with his mother he had bad grades and a horrible temper to take six were not in his favor. Suddenly Ben's mother uneducated herself challenge for two children to read and believe in themselves, Carson give a lot of credit to his mother for pushing them to do their best.
At 33, he became the youngest major division director in the hospital's history as director of pediatric neurosurgery. In 1987, Carson became the first surgeon to successfully separate conjoined twins at the head, the Binder twins, the 70-member surgical team, led by Carson, worked for 22 hours, both twins survived.
