Known as an inventor, scientist, writer, politician, publisher, and so much more, to not recognize this person a historical American figure would be to forget who built the basics for the average American life. Yes, Benjamin Franklin, a figure in history that one still admires to this day. He nurtured America when America was like a newborn babe. He was a father to the fatherless and in turn he became known as one of the American greats.

Franklin’s first introduction to politics was in a meeting of several colonial representatives. He then went on into becoming an ambassador for the United States. Benjamin Franklin is the only founding father to have signed all four of the key documents establishing the U.S.: the Declaration of Independence (1776), the Treaty of Alliance with France (1778), the Treaty of Paris establishing peace with Great Britain (1783) and the U.S. Constitution (1787). Franklin died at an age of 84 in 1790. Even after death Benjamin Franklin is still widely accepted as one of the most famous people in history. There are statues and there are monuments of him all around the United States. His writings and his teachings are still read and taught all over the United Stated even to this day. One still follows the words stated in the documents that he wrote for us to follow. His portrait was even placed on the one hundred dollar
