Benjamin Franklin's Greatest Accomplishments

Although there are many people who have went down in history, the man that has made some of the greatest discoveries is Ben Franklin, the man that definitely deserves more recognition. Benjamin Franklin has definitely left a permanent mark in history that has affected everyone throughout our time. Benjamin Franklin may not have been born from greatness, but he definitely achieved it. On January 17, 1706 a baby was born, this baby may have seemed impotent, but he grew up to be a leader many know today by the name Benjamin Franklin. Benjamin grew up in Boston where he was raised up as a Puritan. A Puritan is a member of a group of English Protestants of the late 16th and 17th centuries who regarded the Reformation of the Church of England under Elizabeth as incomplete and sought to simplify and regulate forms of worship. Though he was raised as a Puritan Benjamin became an apprentice as a printer when he was only seventeen, however; he was born to parents who worked as soap and candle makers. Though his business was prospering, Benjamin finally retired at the age of forty-two, however; he continued on to other professions. Benjamin was a part of the Junto, a group of 12 civic minded men that met every Friday night where they would discuss how to better the city, over food and drinks.
