Benjamin Franklin’s life was very influential in our countries history, even today. He even signed the Declaration of Independence. He was involved in politics, and many people strive to be like him. He was a scientist and an inventor. He was also religious. He was a strong leader. We learned from his life, his politics, and his modern day influences.

Benjamin Franklin was born in Boston, January 17, 1706. He was the tenth son of a soap maker, therefor he was poor as a child. His fathers name was William, and his mother was the second wife of William. His father wanted him to be a clergyman, but the lack of money was an issue. He was a very intelligent young boy and at age 12 taught himself to read, and grew a passion for reading. He helped his older brother at age 15 write newspapers. He was in the democratic party, which means he was “a person who believes in the political and social equality of all people.” He had many concerns about human character . He believed human nature and good leadership was very important in our country. He also had concerns about the problematic businesses of the government. He was also a diplomat, which means he was appointed by the government to conduct negotiations, and maintain political, economic, and social relations with other countries. “Franklin had an unrivaled understanding of the human soul.”

There is a man by the name Bill Berner who is very similar to Benjamin Franklin. He teaches at University of Philadelphia, and is the lab demonstration coordinator. He not only looks similar, but he has a passion for teaching about him and strives to be like him because of his intelligence. Education is very important to Bill Berner.
