Many skin lesions are benign and may only require monitoring. The benign skin lesions are usually not harmful to the body but removal of suspicious skin lesions can reduce the risk of development into a malignancy. Benign skin lesions generally have single color and are categorized as flat, symmetrical, round and the borders are usually even. While Malignant skin lesions have uneven boarder, they are asymmetrical and can present with different colors (Metcalfe, 2015).
