If kids go to school nine months of the year they might not have enough time to be a kid. Too much school time can put pressure on kids and pressure doesn't help grades. Kids also need to see family. If we have a longer school year, kids might not have time to see family from far away. You might have to spend a big chunk of your summer vacation to see family from far away.
