Benefits Of Volunteering Scholarship

Decent Essays
All of my life, I have enjoyed the feeling I get from giving back. Whether it be to a friend, family member, or to my community.
I have been volunteering with the Indiantown Food Pantry for over seven years, and every year I feel more and more humbled by my volunteering experience.
In college I plan on majoring in Business Management and Accounting, so that I can one day run my own non-profit organization and give back to those who need it the most. Our country, even with us being the richest, has outstanding statistics on people who are food insecure, and I want to help that cause. Being awarded this scholarship with help relieve some of the financial stress I will face in college so that i may pursue my degree and go on to begin my career

Throughout five semesters of Leadership Byrnes, I have done quite a lot of community service. From volunteering at Ashlan Village, The Carpenter’s Table, Middle Tyger, Duncan Elementary, Reidville Elementary, and many others, I’ve learned a lot and I’ve seen a lot. The feeling you get after doing any type of community service is something you can explain, but you cannot truly understand how it makes you feel until you have done it. I believe the most meaningful community service that I have done, would be volunteering at The Carpenter’s Table. The Carpenter’s Table is a non-profit organization that allows people to get food for their family.…
