Making dreams come true, one at a time; seeing kid's faces light up when they see Cinderella for the first time: this is what having a Disney career is all about. However, making the magic happen includes a lot of responsibility. Becoming a Disney cast member doesn't require any specific education, but it does require the proper training, a positive attitude, a great deal of patience, and a whole lot of pixie dust.

There are many different opportunities to get the proper training and education needed for this career. There is a Disney College Program, also known as the DCP, where students everywhere can get an idea of what working for the mouse is all about. There are some requirements for the DCP. For example, "be at least 18 years of age by the time the program begins" (http://cp.disneycareers.com/en/about-disney-college-program/overview/). The only education needed is mainly comprised of training. However, "meeting any school requirements for participation" (http://cp.disneycareers.com/en/about-disney-college-program/overview/) is a necessity. Depending on where the cast member is placed will determine how they need to act. They also have to remember, they're in Disney World. Another name for Disney World is "The Happiest Place on Earth". Constantly maintaining a smile and spreading that positivity is the key, especially if portraying a certain character. Bringing a character to life requires a lot of effort. Whether it's standing in a head to toe fur costume in the Florida heat or inside princess fairytale hall in the air conditioning, being able to bring a character to life is so so important.
