Believe it or not, but some people actually will work harder even if not receiving a monetary reward. The goal is to provide a reward with value, at the lowest cost. Types of non-monetary incentives include training opportunities, flexible work hours or the option of allowing employees to work independently. Other work place perks? Office parties, casual days, free lunch day or social events outside of the office, can work well towards keeping your employees motivated.

Overall, people who receive recognition for their work achievements are more likely to have a positive attitude and increased morale in the workplace.
