There are several benefits of receiving an education after completing high school. One of the clear benefits is the career options and job security that comes with a collegiate degree. Statistics show that another large impact of a degree is the substantial increase of pay and benefits. Lastly, the personal growth obtained in the process of getting a degree is an essential to becoming a well rounded individual. The benefits of receiving a college education outweigh the cons with numerous reasons from interpersonal to financial motivations.
People with college degrees have more benefits associated with their career and lower unemployment rates than those without only a high school education. Education is a key element that increases the likelihood of one preparing and finding a quality full-time career. An article by Pew Research Center states, “College is the most direct route to a good job and career” ("The Rising" 33). The Pew Research team surveyed 2,002 adults and they found that employed college graduates are far more likely than their peers who did not attend college to express that their education has been “very useful” in getting them ready for employment and a career (46% vs. 31%). These graduates also feel they are able to progress in their careers due to the education and training they acquired (63% vs. 41%) ("The Rising" 4).
