Ron Lewis said, “Ensuring quality higher education is one of the most important things we can do for future generations” (“Higher Education Quotes”). In the past, the minimal degree needed for a job was a high school diploma, but today jobs require a minimal of a bachelor’s degree, therefore; a bachelor’s degree is the new high school diploma. Pursuing a higher education is costly, but the future generations and today’s generations need to know the importance of having a post secondary education under their belt. The purpose of this paper is to encourage the readers to continue with their education. A priority that a person needs to think about is paying bills. As someone gets older bills become a main priority in his or her life. Some bills that people have to pay are phone bills, gas bills, car payments, and other bills. Because bills are a main priority, furthering in education helps get a better job, therefore; the salary will be greater for the employee. As I have become an adult, I have had to pay my phone bills, car payments, and other bills, therefore; I am continuing my education to get a two-year degree so I can have a job that pays. Another priority that a person needs to think about is the necessities that he or she needs. Necessities could include food, gas, or anything that a person needs to live. Just like priorities needs a good paying job, having the necessities also includes having a good paying job. When thinking about the future, people need to think about what their priorities are, and weight the positives and the negatives of furthering your …show more content…
A motivation that people use when furthering his or her education is that in the end, they will have a better paying job than they would without the degree they have now. I know that I am looking on the bright side of finishing my degree. I will have a better paying job, and be happy. Another motivation people have is that they will have an enjoyable career. When having a degree, it is easier to have a career that is enjoyable than to be stuck with the job he or she does not want. I am currently working at jiffy lube, and since I am going to school now for fire fighting, at the end of my schooling I will have an enjoyable career that I look forward to doing everyday.
