The successful treatments of respiratory ailments have been used in Ayurvedic system both for children and adults. A number of parts of this plant are taken for the treatment asthma, joint pain, also in sprains, lumber pain; mild one like cold, cough, swelling; critical one such as eczema, rheumatism, malaria, and venereal diseases (Jain 1991). The European medical practitioners have also been used the medicinal parts of ardusi plants. The isolated liquid extract and tincture have been used in England as an Expectorant, febrifuge and Antispasmodic. Simultaneously it has been also applicable in Diphtheria and intermittent typhus fever (Wren and Holmes 1923). In Germany, the physicians preferred to use the leaves for its expectorant and spasmolytic properties (Madaus, 1938).
