Physician Assisted Suicide is the act of committing suicide with help from someone who knows how to do so painlessly ( Jaret). Not a multitude of states have implemented this or have considered this act as legal. Only a few states in the United States actually allow this to happen: Washington, Oregon, California, Montana, and Vermont. Even though it is legal in those states to do Physician Assisted Suicide, there are requirements in order for it to take effect. The requirements include that the patient has to take the medicine themselves, the patient has to be terminally ill with only six months to live, they must have the mental capacity to know what they are doing and their consequences, make two verbal consents, 15 days apart, and one
