Dogs and cats like to sit, scratch and bite furniture. However, after they are done using your couch you are left with a ruined piece of upholstery. Damaged furniture not only looks terrible, but a difficult mess to clean up as well. That’s why it is good to teach your pets to stay off the couch during their puppy or kitty stages. Nevertheless, some pets are still quite stubborn and insist on being on the couch even after training. When this happens, it’s time that you make your furniture uncomfortable for your pets.
You can place aluminum foil on top of your dining chairs to prevent cats from jumping on them. You can also make the chair feel sticky by sticking placemats on the chair’s surface with double-sided tape. If all else fails, you can set harmless traps on the furniture. One example is to stack a bunch of empty soda cans on the chair. When your pets have the urge to jump on the couch, the cans will topple all over – startling your pets.
