Culturally, Adam, Paul and David are just like the next man may feel more shame about their depression and try to be a tough guy and tough it out or Adam should use alcohol or drugs as a self-medication. Untreated depression in men can have devastating consequences, as men are about four times more likely to die by suicide than women (World Health Association, 2016).
