Migraines are real medical conditions just like diabetes and asthma. It is not just a headache. Migraines are severe, excruciating headaches, but are known to be a serious concern. There is no exact cause to migraine headaches, but some major effects that can cause them are bad posture, flashes of light, nausea or vomiting, and increased sensitivity to light. Stress is another major cause of migraines. But, there are many different types of migraines. Although, the employer has the duty to accommodate to employees’ needs, if there is anything that is causing them from having an illness from specific work positions. The employer has the duty to accommodate to his or her needs, so if he is having migraines during his position, the company has …show more content…
A standard work period would be from nine in the morning to five in the evening, but the flextime would be from eleven in the morning to three in the afternoon. A flexible work arrangement has flexible hours of work schedules, such as having alternative work schedules and have flextime and compressed week scheduling, and also arrangements regarding shift and breaks schedules. Flexibility in the amount of hours worked, such as part-time and job shares. Also, if the employer requires the employee with multiple migraine complaints, and requests him to take breaks away from the computer after several hours of constant work, so that he does not get migraines, due to constant staring at the computer screen. And individual that takes unpaid leaves, which are broken away from the workforce without getting any sort of payment. Paid leave is basically getting paid for the time you have taken off without doing any work. Whereas telecommuting is working from home either by e-mail, the Internet or by telephone and getting paid for that which is totally different from paid leave because the person is working from home and getting paid the same way they would if they were coming into work. And medical leave can also be known as paid sick days, which is time off work that workers can use to stay home to address their health and safety needs
