Living Off Campus

Living on campus is normal for most students in college, then again, so is living off campus. The choice to live on campus or to not can be very tough. An indecisive person could have a very hard time deciding which way to live out their years in college. It may appear to most that living on campus is a no brainer, but in actuality sixty percent of students at public colleges live off campus, according to U.S. News and World Report. On the other hand the same newspaper stated that sixty-four percent of private college students live on campus. Some of the most important comparisons between living off campus and living on campus that come to light are maintenance, social life and convenience.

Some even have places such as Chipotle and Starbucks, which are very popular in today’s youth. Having these places to eat at on campus is very convenient and saves a lot of time for on-campus dwellers. Living off campus can be beneficial because students are not required to abide by the school rules that students on-campus have to live by. Parking is made easier when living off campus as well. A common complaint on campus is not being able to find parking. Living in a house off-campus also allows students to live wherever they desire. Many universities and colleges are located in undesirable areas of town. Being able to commute to school easily and still feel safe at home is beneficial to the mental well being of students.
College is filled with so many different experiences and students are lucky to be able to choose how they want to live while experiencing them.
