Benefits Of Legalizing Prostitution

In my opinion, prostitution should not be either legalized or decriminalized because it is simply immoral act that only brings a negative impact on our society. Even though there are many articles and studies that say legalizing prostitution will decrease HIV and other sexual transmitted diseases, there is not much evidence that support their ideas. According to the article called “Should Prostitution Be Legalized?” proponents often say that decriminalization will decrease STDs since “it will offer prostitutes regular STD tests and pelvic exams, without fear of being turned in.” However, I think that legalizing prostitution would only increase the crime rates, child sexual exploitation, and human trafficking. It can also motivate other women

Even though my opinion that it should stay illegal stayed the same afterwards I still think that. Starting with Shane, even though she states that she likes her profession throughout most of her article she goes over all bad things. Like how she doesn’t actually want to have sex with her client and is not given enthusiastic consent. She also mentions how emotional connection is asking to much because she is still a human being. While I completely agree that prostitutes are still human beings, I can’t help but feel that because they are being paid does make it ok for the client to ask of this.…

It states that those who are against prostitution believe that it is exploitive and an inappropriate part of society. However, there are many other reasons that 55% of Canada’s population believes that prostitution is morally wrong, which the article does not explain . Many people also believe that prostitution is immoral, disgusting, harmful to both women and society, and contributes to the use and sale of harmful drugs such as crack cocaine . The article says that those who are advocating for the decriminalization of prostitution do so because they “view prostitution as a transaction between consenting adults or they believe prohibition encourages the exploitation of sex workers by denying them legal and regulatory protections” . The article leaves out a key point in the argument for the decriminalization of prostitution, which is that by decriminalizing it, women who are prostitutes will be safer while working on the streets and will be less likely to be a victim of a violent crime .…

What I have learned so far on my readings throughout the semester I believe that prostitution should be legalized in the United States. I can say based on the facts that prostitution had a violent impact on the women and young teenagers that works in these industries. Also those organization abuses physical and mentally that the consequence can be traumatic in their victim lives. The government doesn’t have control on these situations, I believe based on these reasons prostitution needs to be legalized because the government can stop and be involved by adding protection in different ways and can be a better way to control the illegal prostitution. Also with the supervision of legal institutions, they can stop human trafficking, any type of…

It is for this reason that legalizing prostitution could provide many countries with an economic advantage, for it would decrease the unemployment rate in those countries. Due to recent job markets being extremely limited in terms of job opportunities, many individuals are being let off work, and are unable to find jobs because there is a decrease in available vacancies. Therefore, considering prostitution as a career choice is something many have being doing for quite some time now, and for good reason, for prostitution is quite the lucrative business. Hence, if prostitution were legitimized, the stigma of being a sex worker would slowly decrease, and eventually, people would feel more comfortable pursuing this line of work, and this in itself would lead to an increase in employment. Similarly, when discussing the stigma that those in prostitution face, it is important to mention that if the stigma faced by prostitutes is lifted, it might facilitate the transition of those in prostitution to other lines of work, which would lead to an expansion in the non-sex work labor…

The legalization of prostitution would allow these people to pursue a better life with a legal job. In addition to this, it is a very common practice for people to sell their bodies when they are in need of extra money. It is estimated that there are approximately four-thousand to five-thousand donor inseminated births every year (“Sperm Banking Background”). As long as prostitution is consensual and regulated, there is little difference between the two, they are both ways that people can use their bodies to make money. Because many prostitutes were victims of violence or human trafficking as children, they did not get to receive the education that is necessary in order to obtain well-paying jobs. Therefore, if communities can set up programs that would allow people who were victims of prostitution to receive a high school or college education, they would be more likely to get jobs that would allow them to make money without having to be a prostitute. Communities can also create jobs for people who have been victims of prostitution and other sex crimes. Education and better career opportunities are two things that could help eliminate prostitution in our communities. Overall, I believe that human trafficking and prostitution are both social problems that put our country at risk.…

Legalizing prostitution does not have all bad things that come with it. By legalizing prostitution it allows the government to regulate prostitutes. The government would be able to keep an eye on prostitution and it would put a decrease in human sex trafficking. This would also not allow as many pimps to run a business. The woman could advertise themselves on the internet without getting in trouble with the law, since the profession is legal, and they are not being forced to do something they do not want to do.…
