The current amendments in the bill of rights state that every American citizen has the right to pursue his or her happiness. It has been proven beyond doubt that most of marijuana user and smokers do it for the sake of them becoming happy. They get some sense of self-actualization when they smoke marijuana. Making the use of this drug illegal is, therefore, in contravention of their constitutional right and such a move can be challenged in a court of law by any human rights activities. It is a clear indication that there are no health problems that are caused by marijuana. It does not create addiction as other drugs do. Additionally, if the drug use is legalized, it will reduce the way people use it to a large scale. It will reduce drug trafficking and reduces the number of dealers within the country. Marijuana does not cause lung cancer, disease. On the contrary, it is used for medical purpose as a prevention to glaucoma and Alzheimer. In the same manner, it is used as stress reliever alongside helping physicians to retard the growth of tumor and such related diseases. It also has applications in hospital theaters where it is used during minor operations as a pain reliever. Legalizing the drug and the plant will come at a good time for the state when it is grappling with unemployment issues for the youthful generation. How? The government will be motivated to come up with cannabis farms which can be a source of employment to its citizens through harvesting, cultivation, and processing. The county’s GDP will shoot upwards through the revenues it will collect as tax from the business revolving around marijuana.
