Young people should learn a foreign language at an early age because of the advantages. According to a research done by Harvard University, research confirms that learning another language can have impacts like critical thinking skills and creativity for children. Dr. Pascual-Leone’s outcome (Professor of Neurology) researches the about important first step in understanding the impact of learning a second language and the ageing brain. He has concluded that learning a foreign language can have impacts like critical thinking skill and creativity for children. Next, learning a foreign language can enhance the brain. Recently, researchers and scientists have found out that learning a foreign language can strengthen the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DL-PFC). The DL-PFC is important for memory and executive function (including thinking and action). If the DL-PFC is damaged, it can cause serious damage to the mind. So, if young students learn a foreign language, the students can prevent damaging the DL-PFC. In spite of brain stress, extra cognitive strength makes children’s brain tired. However, like other muscles, brains grow stronger with cognitive exercise. Native learning delay could be fixed by training. If the learner gets enough training for the native language, this problem can be fully fixed. His/her parent’s desire can not be really fixed; however, this training will help the child’s language and later on benefit from it. People may think learning foreign language at an early age has many disadvantages; however, these claims can be fixed in many ways.
In conclusion, people should study a foreign language at a young age. When learning at a young age, there are many benefits like concentration, understanding, and intelligence. In addition, it is easier to master language skills when learning at a young age. Furthermore, a second language could be convenient for future use.
